Meet Kim Garrison

With 17 years of experience in the senior living healthcare industry, Kim has been an invaluable asset to Heather Glen Senior Living for the past 3 ½ years. As the Director of Marketing and Admissions, Kim plays a crucial role in educating potential residents, families, care managers and other professionals about the services we offer at Heather Glen.

“When it comes to senior living, knowledge is a powerful tool, and it’s my job to help people understand what Heather Glen does and how we are an exceptional resource for care, education and support through the aging process. I’m also responsible for developing great relationships in the community so others are aware of Heather Glen and the services we provide. I work in collaboration with our Marketing Development support on social media, advertising and outreach. The entire team has great synergy and works hand-in-hand to do what best serves our residents,” Kim explains. “We have the pleasure of serving where our residents call home—and we keep that top of mind.”

Kim firmly believes in making a difference and has always felt a special connection with the senior population, which has been evident in her unwavering dedication.

“My parents were a great example of serving others in their professional and personal lives. I knew I had to also make a difference and always felt a special connection with our elder generation. I’ve been told in the past that I have an old soul, and I feel blessed by that compliment,” says Kim, reflecting on her motivation to pursue a career in senior care.

Kim is undoubtedly a crucial part of this philosophy, as her passion for senior wellness extends far past marketing and admissions. She also works collaboratively with various organizations, such as Lehigh Valley Aging in Place and Dementia Friendly Lehigh Valley, to make a positive impact on the lives of seniors. By providing education to the public and connecting them with the resources they need while also advocating for dementia awareness and support, Kim represents a beacon of hope and guidance for seniors and families who may be navigating the complexities of senior living options—which is where she and the rest of our team step in to help.

Because of this close-knit atmosphere, countless heartwarming stories of transformation and happiness fill the halls of Heather Glen, with one particular resident's experience standing out. Kim shares, “I've had the blessing of watching so many residents blossom here at Heather Glen, but one particular resident comes to mind. This resident's daughter, whose mother was adamant she would never embrace living in a senior living community, was extremely nervous about making the right and safe decision for her mom—because she was no longer safe to live at home alone. Two months later, the daughter stopped me as she was leaving after a visit with her mom. She asked me, 'What did you do with my mother?' and I looked at her perplexed. She proceeded to tell me, with tears in her eyes, that her mom is so happy here and every time she visits with her, she can't stop telling her all the things she's doing and the friends she has made. It's like her mom has a whole new life here, and the days of being alone and not leaving her home are a welcomed faded memory.”
